Chap 9
The Burial
As I sign the papers away
A part of me feels like I am a graveyard
The halls of the courtroom, like the walkway to the cemetery
Where I once buried my cat, I now bury my marriage
Like the gravel left my palm as I dropped it on the carcass
I now feel time seething away from my plans on the memories I once had
It slowly hides it, takes it out of my sight
As the gravel hid the body
I still feel the pain at times
For all but time does
Is just put a bandage on the scars
It never really heals them fully
The emotion in the one really hits home, Syeda. From the details of the buried cat to the sense of walking in a graveyard, it's lovely writing!
